weeee! finally saw my friends today. happy. it was only a week but honestly, i miss them terribly. i feel so disconnected when i'm in batangas and there's no internet and no signal _{and i can't believe i'll be going back there tomorrow!} san benito farm is so pretty though. we're very lucky to have free access to some of its facilities. makes me wish i can drag everyone there to relax. i'm glad to be back home. rrr... me ps2 is still not working though. i think something is wrong with the lens... now how would i finish samurai warriors?

anyway, and e updated me with everything that had happened during the toycon after izumi and i left. darn, i regret not being able to do anything so that we could've stayed longer. i'm glad everyone had fun though, and i really am very, very proud of everyone, especially sean and kuya vince. i'm happy they made new friends and were able to spend time with those we met during past cosplays. sorry i wasn't able to stay. i didn't even get to see you in your hinamori costume! hope we do get to cosplay together next time and have lotsa pics! i hope you enjoyed cosplaying with ling and the others. sean, aw... so proud! so... next time ulit? kuya vince, told you wala ka ng kawala! wahahahahahahaha! you rock. we live to make you proud. hihi. sooo... i heard that you might be adopting another boy. haha. and hopefully, another one for december, right? _{and yes, kamui, if you ever get to read this, ikaw nga pinaguusapan! wahahahaha!}

wow... i can't believe that mangaholix is over... that was a very interesting event, to say the least. there were sooo many brilliant cosplayers this year! i was so happy seeing a lot of people go as rpg characters. someone even went as sodina! happy. didn't expect smx to be filled with people though and didn't expect it to be hot inside too. anyway, well worth it since i got to watch my friends pose. really loved that part. haha! and i'm so proud of sean since he carried renji so well that he didn't even have a blooper picture! darn! and kuya vince too... even if he was shocked at first, he didn't even complain. hope we'd get to drag them again next time.

<sub>well, one more week before classes start. this was a very interesting vacation since it was the first time my friends and i actually cosplayed in public... but more than that, it's also a vacation mostly spent with them. it's gonna be weird not seeing them every week! haha. special shout-outs to:

you're crazy. haha. i had fun preparing and being toxic doing the props and other preparations with you! and i really had fun tagging along your interior designing gig for chuee's shwarma house! congrats on the swords. you do realize i'm gonna make your life a living hell by asking you to make a spear with dragons, right? let's make the sheaths next time, k? thank you! we wouldn't have had this weird, weird, weird vacation without your insanity!

omg... 25 days to go before my 2 years of hell start! waaa... can't believe i'll be going to the twilight zone again. _{okay, i'm now officially depressed. how the hell did izumi get through this?!} ehem, anyway... other than the work i still have to finish, i think i need to start with my last 3 projects for this vacation... which i hope i do get to finish before june 9. that plus i'm planning to make a coffeetable book for my bestfriend who would be going to singapore this year too. _{waaa! hun, how am i gonna survive without you?!} this is gonna be one helluva med year. crap.

Just arrived from a day of roaming around Greenhills. While I go to that area a lot, today is just different. I guess it brings back old memories when you 'shop' around with your anime friends. And now, looking back...

I remember when my brother used to bring home different anime titles from a little shop along Tandang Sora that sold betamax tapes. Yup, betamax. Each tape would only have 2 episodes and would cost around 400 bucks. I really don't know how he'd know which titles to get but he almost always brought home something interesting, to say the least. Then, my brother discovered Greenhills...

I remember when the only area you can buy anime was Greenhills. Viramall was quite old back then, years before the fire burned most of it down. People would have to buy their stuff from Cats and the other surrounding areas. Comic Alley didn't exist and if you think they overprice now, you wouldn't believe how much they sold VHS tapes of anime back then! Even then, you'd have to work hard to complete a series. You wait and wait for new episodes to arrive and only depend on the ones selling it for the release dates.

Back then, collecting anime and manga was quite tedious mainly because everything was expensive, you'd have to wait years before you finish a series (and since the internet was still new, there were no such things as spoilers), and it was hard to find manga and anime vanity items (cds, plushies, figurines...) since everything was in Japan. It was fun though. Those years I spent watching and waiting with my friends were probably what led to the strong bonds that we have now. Since we were young (grade school young) and our parents didn't let us commute, going to Greenhills was a luxury. Once we were there, we would grab any new thing we could, whether it be never-heard-of titles, a VHS of 2 episodes, a wooden figure of P-chan, a few pages of manga... Things which are so common now were our precious treasures back then.

The kids today are lucky. Anime and manga are everywhere. They can find most of the titles in pirated (and even original) DVDs, and when those rare titles are not available, they can just download them from the internet. People don't have to wait years to know what the next episodes hold when they don't have money to buy since they can just check on reviews. Everything is so fast-paced and somehow, everything that we had waited for years to collect can now just be bought in a day. I'm partially grateful because it makes collecting a lot easier. The things that we only dreamed of having back then are already in the shops now. Sometimes though, there are days when I look back and remember how it was 14 years ago... And it is only now then I realize that I wouldn't have this much love and respect for the classics, their writers, their creators if things were this easy back then. And how lucky I am to have lived in both eras of anime and manga.

And to end, I am one of those who collected the manga of X/1999 when it was first released locally way back 1994-ish. Every year I waited for a new manga to arrive... Imagine how it felt when CLAMP decided not to continue making the manga because they already made an anime of it. I know that I’m not the only one who had such experiences… so congratulations on those who had lived through all the frustrations!

To those who have waited for this day to come; To those who thought that having this much anime and manga locally would just be a farfetched dream; To those who have started years before me and have gone through so much more frustrations; To those little nameless shops that rented out anime titles and have closed down because anime wasn't that common back then... Cheers and thank you. Without you guys, we wouldn't have enjoyed and dreamt and believed and created and lived this much.

currently obsessing again... ehem, unfortunately, it's not helping with the work i need to finish (hopefully before my sister's graduation)... but i'm happy.

lately, i've been thinking... years from now, i hope we can still do the things we do. the next 2 years will probably be hell, but somehow, i know if i set my priorities straight, i'd still manage to draw and sew and make hideous things from paper (yes, wingy, you know what i'm talking about since i can't mention it here). hihi. it's fun to put chwibi fun before everything else.
